The Spa is owned and operated under the watchful eye of Catherine Hinds, a skin care and spa therapy professional and educator with over 40 years of experience. Catherine’s competent staff are all licensed professionals and several of them graduates of the Catherine Hinds Institute in Boston, MA. Catherine and her staff strive to enhance the relaxation response and well being of their clients, customers and guests.

Inspired by the lure of economic independence in the 1960’s, Catherine Hinds cleared the landscape and paved the road for American estheticians for the last four decades. Bringing seven salons to fruition in Boston and New York, Catherine acquired knowledge and expertise that turned her toward education. In 1979, she sold her salons and founded the Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics, which became the first accredited esthetics school in the country in 1983. Catherine is the recipient of the Dermascope magazine’s Legend Award and has been named Woman of the Year and Esthetician of the Year by the American Salon Owners Association. In January 2000, Catherine moved to Clayton so she could “retire to work” and develop her destination spa located on the waterfront in Clayton.
